August - Maggie McGuire

"How Did That Block Get It's Name?"

In August, Dr. Maggie McGuire, a retired educator and Marine Corps wife, is coming to do a program on antique quilts called "How Did that Block Get Its Name?" We all know lots of names for quilt blocs, but how they came up with those names is a mystery? From politics to animals, tools and travels, quilt block names reflect the times in which they were created.
