August - Teresa Duryea Wong

Teresa Duryea Wong, author of two books on Japanese quilts and textiles, will be the featured speaker at the August 18 guild meeting. Teresa promises a lively and fun lecture that will appeal to quilters of all types. Her presentation covers the fascinating history of Japan’s cotton & indigo – two epic plants that changed the world. She’ll also talk about Japanese quilts made with very old & very new textiles and share the stories behind traditional folk textiles such as boro & sashiko.
